When Mrs Bounjong, whose eyesight is very poor, walked into the clinic yesterday, she was accompanied by her 7 years old granddaughter. Since 5 years, Mrs Bounjong's eyesight in both eyes has been declining and at the moment when we see her, she is all but blind, so that she has to be accompanied constantly by her family members. She lives close to the hospital with her son, his wife and her six grandchildren. When she heard on the radio that Asian Eye Care would visit Pakse to perform eye surgeries, she went to the hospital. Yesterday she was operated on and today, together with her youngest, 5 years old granddaughter, she returns to the clinic for the post-operational check. She feels extremely happy, because when the eye bandage was removed this morning, she could see her granddaughter clearly for the very first time! She cannot wait to tell the rest of her family that she can see clearly again. The visit to the eye clinic makes a big impression on her granddaughters, too; in the waiting room, they already imitate the visus tests that the nurse performs on their grandmother!
